School buses are the most basic option in our fleet, but they’re also the most affordable and versatile. Each bus can seat anywhere from 44 to 47 passengers, making them ideal for moving large groups of people over short distances. The interiors feature bench-style seating upholstered in either vinyl or cloth, depending on the model, with enough legroom for adults to sit comfortably. There are no seat belts, armrests, or reclining functions, but the high backs provide decent support for trips under an hour. Storage space is limited to what you can carry onboard or stow under the seats, so these buses are best suited for groups traveling light. There are no overhead racks, underfloor luggage bays, or parcel shelves, but you can use the rear emergency exit area to stack a few bags or boxes if needed. Climate control is provided by either a basic forced-air heater or a set of roof-mounted fans, which can circulate fresh air through the cabin but won’t keep you cool on a hot summer day. If you’re planning to travel during peak heat, we recommend scheduling your trips early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the worst temperatures. There are no restrooms, WiFi, power outlets, or entertainment systems onboard, so be sure to plan accordingly. For short-distance shuttles, parking lot transfers, or backup service for Metrolink or OCTA routes, a school bus is a reliable and cost-effective choice. If you need more comfort or amenities, consider upgrading to a mini bus or charter bus instead.
